Brent joined our agency in 2021, bringing with him a wealth of sales experience. However, he quickly found his calling in connecting with businesses and individuals, helping them discover the optimal insurance solutions. As an Account Manager, his primary focus is to ensure our existing customers’ policy needs are met and, should their needs change, find them new policies that offer the right level of coverage. Additionally, he helps our team connect new with the best policies tailored to their unique requirements.

What inspired you to pursue a career in insurance, and how did you get connected with E.L. Sanders Insurance Agency?
I wanted to get away from sales but remain in an industry that involved working with businesses and people. I enjoy being knowledgeable on a product and giving the best guidance and recommendations I can. My family has known the Sanders family for a while and has been involved in various community and charitable events with them over the years. When I saw they were looking for an account manager a couple years ago, I jumped at the chance to work with a respected community family and business.
What are your primary responsibilities as an Account Manager for Commercial lines?
With current customers, I review their policy renewals for accuracy and/or any changes. Basically, I read every line of coverage forms and exclusions to make sure their business is covered for any type of potential claim. I work with their agent here at Sanders to recommend a coverage or course of action in order to best avoid any future exposures.
I also coordinate with loss prevention experts from our many exceptional carriers and, with their vast experience and knowledge, we can recommend how best to avoid or mitigate potential claims.
I also issue certificates of insurance, assist with audits, etc. We try and take on as much of the tedious insurance requirements of a business as possible so our clients can actually run their business!
How do you work with clients to understand their unique insurance needs and help them find the right coverage?
Every business has nuance so its just conversation. That’s the only way to know a business and their owner(s). We work with several highly rated carriers so the majority of our interoffice communication and training is keeping apprised of their different offerings and commercial insurance packages so that we know where best to place our clients insurance.
A competitive price is important for small business owners but having the right coverage come claim time is key to “finding the right coverage.”
What do you enjoy most about working at E.L. Sanders Insurance Agency?
I’m still relatively new to insurance simply because there’s so much to this industry. The amount of experience and knowledge the agents and account managers have here is the best part. There aren’t many scenarios that haven’t been seen by someone at E.L. Sanders.
Outside of work, what do you enjoy doing in your free time?
It’s all about family. My wife and I have a 2½-year old boy and a 1-year old girl. We live in North Beach with our 2 Great Danes, and the community there is great. Lots of walking to the boardwalk or beach, community festivities, First Friday events, water park, etc. Outside of the family life, my hobbies are golf and billiards.
