Bonnie Langley

After 33 years with E.L. Sanders Insurance Agency, account manager Bonnie Langley has developed a special sense for helping her Personal Lines clients choose the right policies.

Our clients love her — even if sometimes it’s not until much later that they realize just how helpful she’s been along the way.

Bonnie is also a pleasure to have around the office. Whether it’s letting loose a well-timed joke or talking Larry into buying lunch for the team, we appreciate all the little things she does around here to make our days more enjoyable.

What prompted you to make the move from banking to join E.L. Sanders?
I was working for a local bank and decided to leave the bank to start working somewhere else. Mr. Sanders (Ed) came into the bank on my last day working there and sat at my desk and told me if it didn’t work out where I was going to work to give him a call and he would hire me. The experience didn’t go as well as I had hoped and within a year I called Mr. Sanders to see if the offer still stood. I started working here 2 weeks later.

What do you enjoy most about working in Personal Lines?
All the great clients I get to talk to throughout the year.

Tell us about a time when you were able to really make a positive difference for a client?
I had a client who purchased an umbrella policy and agreed to purchase the uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage on the policy. Unfortunately, he was in a not-at-fault accident and was seriously injured. The at-fault driver was underinsured for the injuries my insured had due to the accident. It helped to know that this insured is able to come back on his policies for the limits on his auto and umbrella policy.

What makes E.L. Sanders a special place to work??
All the wonderful people I get to work with every day. Being able to laugh and carry on with these people daily and to know they have your back if you need them. After 33 years, they are not co-workers, they are family. I really enjoy sweet talking Larry into buying lunch occasionally or letting us off a little early on the day before a holiday.

Where are some of the places you’ve been camping with your family? Or tell us about a particularly memorable trip?
Most of our camping trips are at a dear friend’s property in St. Mary’s County. We are close to home and we have a great time while we are there. We have been several times to Bethpage Campground in Urbana, VA. We have been to a few beaches, and I think my favorite beach camping is at Ocean Lakes Campground in Myrtle Beach, SC.

My most happy memorable trip would have to be a cruise I took back in 1985. I am way overdue for another one!
